Max Cashout Caps: The Bonus Clause That Limits Your Winnings

A wagering requirement is the bonus clause everyone warns you about. The one that quietly does the most damage is the maximum cashout — a cap on how much of your bonus winnings you are ever allowed to withdraw, no matter how well you run.

How it works

Max cashout is usually expressed as a multiple of the bonus (for example “max cashout 10× the bonus amount”) or as a flat ceiling. It is most aggressive on the offers that look most generous: no-deposit bonuses and free-spin winnings.

A worked example

You take a $50 no-deposit bonus at 40× wagering with a $100 max cashout. You grind through the $2,000 of required wagering and, running hot, turn it into $500. The max-cashout clause means you withdraw $100 and the remaining $400 is forfeited. That is why a headline “up to 5 BTC” welcome package almost never pays anything close to five Bitcoin.

How to protect yourself

Find the max-cashout line in the bonus terms — not the promo banner — before you opt in. Run the real numbers in our wagering calculator and read bonuses explained. Often a smaller bonus with no cap (or a high one) is worth more than a huge bonus capped low. 18+ · gamble responsibly.
